Mullins Family – Chile

Mike & Marta Mullins
Santiago, Chile

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
John 8:12

We are Mike & Marta Mullins Missionaries in Chile, we have been missionaries for seventeen years, with twelve years serving in the capital of Santiago, Chile. Our Lord has allowed us to start two churches and see so many souls saved through the years. I met and married my wife Marta while at Landmark Baptist College, we both earned degrees in Missions and were called to the country of Chile. We both grew up in church and have served in many ministries of the local church most of our lives. Our goals are to train people to serve our Lord in Chile and to reach as many as we can with the gospel while we have time. We are honored to serve in the country of Chile along with you, thank you so much for your heart for missions.

Letter Update

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, I pray tis letter finds you in the joy of the Lord. Well please pray for us as we have made it back to Chile and it’s so cold. It’s a very cold June and everyone is sick this time of year. Needless to say, it’s a time when some like to stay home, so we will really be trying to encourage everyone to remain faithful even when it’s cold and rainy. We have threw winter breakfast at the church during the winter months and I think that does help encourage them some as well.

While we were in the states for some testing, I had the opportunity to preach in several churches and we saw about eight souls saved as a result of the preaching of Gods Word. We also were able to visit a couple of churches that we have not visited for many years. It’s always a blessing to be encouraged by supporting churches that have partnered with us through the years.

If you remember last year, I led a man to the Lord named Oscar, well he has grown in grace and has been a blessing to the church in many ways. He will be marrying one of the ladies in the church and we are very happy for them. I will be doing the wedding for them in a couple weeks. Please pray for them as they begin their lives together. Also, the lady he is marrying is one of our Sunday School teachers.

Marta has an aunt that I led to the Lord about two years ago, her and her husband were saved on the same day. Gloria has been battling cancer for some time and unless our Lord changes things she most likely will not have much more time with us. It’s so difficult to see those that you have grown to love eand respect waste away with this terrible cancer. I’m so thankful that we have a home in heaven and after this life we will see her again.

Well, I was able to bring Edward and his wife Isabel new bibles and we also brought a bunch of tracts with us in our luggage. It can be difficult and expensive getting material all the way down here the Chile. I would really like to buy about twenty or thirty leather bibles and bring them to Chile for some of our members in the church. When Edward’s wife Isabel received her new leather bible tat we just gave her, I saw her going her old bible to another lady in the church that was saved last year. That old bible was all marked up by Isabel, but she was so happy to receive it.

Marta and I continue to travel back to the states every six months for her testing and check ups at Moffitt Cancer Center. We have five years of check ups and testing. We now have a little over two years with three more to go. It’s extremely difficult on us, but we know it’s what we must do for now. Please continue to pray for her and also for me as we balance our personal lives with that of the ministry. I would like to ask our supporting churches to consider raising the amount of support you send to us. We have been missionaries for almost nineteen years and many of you have supported us for many years now. There is no way we can take one or two years away from the field to raise the support we really need. Chile has a 19% sales tax and not to mention everything is five times more expensive than when we came to the field. We did add two new supporting churches recently, Praise God!
