Dan and Gail
“Our plans are not always God’s plans!”
Dan and Gail Powers spent over 25 years in the Pastoral Ministry all over the United States until they were called into International Ministries. They became missionaries to Cambodia in 2010.
Letter Update:
In our last letter it was mentioned that Dan was invited to the Philippines in February to preach/teach to ministerial students with the idea to give their lives to missions. however the Lord had different plans. While in Cambodia he started having some symptoms that concerned him. He was having some shortness of breath and some discomfort in his chest. So he decided he better come back to the US to get it checked. His doctor sent him for a nuclear stress test which showed some abnormality, so he sent him on to a Cardiologist. He sent him for a Heart Cath, which showed he had three blockages, however only one was 80% blocked the other two was just 30% & 20% blocked. They put a stent in the 80% blocked one. He’s now doing very well, but has had to wait till related from the cardiologist to go back. Suspecting everything to be ok we have no purchased our tickets to go back to Cambodia May 5th. Please pray nothing changes that. Two days after Dan got out of the hospital his baby brother Paul (62 year old) had cardiac arrest and was brain dead for lack of oxygen to the brain. He was eventually taken off life support and Dan preached his memorial service.
We will be sending out Pastor Sarovorn Eang and his dear wife Sarawatey and family to Campong Chaanag Province to start a new work. This is his home province, and he has had a burden to go back and start a work for some time. Pastor Sarovorn is a faithful husband, father, and associate pastor for Grace Baptist Church in Phnom Penh. Although we will miss them, we are truly blessed for the burden the Lord has placed on his heart. If you are interested in investing in their life and ministry financially it would be a tremendous blessing to them. Please contact me for further details. Cambodian churches do not have the resources to help support him. So he is going totally by faith.
If you would like to stay updated with the Powers family or feel led to give, to help them on their journey, you can give your donations to Hickory Ridge Baptist Church.
