Jonathan, Sarah & the Kids
The Robertson’s response to the call of service in Costa Rica is the result of a lifetime of preparation in both Jonathan’s and Sarah’s life. Both were raised in missionary homes and are fluent in Spanish. Following their individual calls to foreign missions, they met at Baptist Bible College while studying in the Missions Program. They have since served together in several capacities including a Spanish outreach, as part of a church planting team, and more recently in their sending church, Graceway Baptist Church. Jonathan also served as Media Coordinator at the Baptist Bible Fellowship International Mission Office. Jonathan and Sarah, with their three children, look forward to the opportunity to serve the Lord in Costa Rica.
Oscar was a neighbour who started coming to our bible studies when we first started in Cedros. He was a faithful part of the ministry from then on and we saw the Lord work in him and draw Oscar to him. He has fought and beat cancer several times until this last time when it came back. During Jonathan’s visits to pray with and encourage him he would often come back the one more encouraged. That’s who he was, always encouraging those around him. Oscar was a dear friend who loved being with people and loved to serve. This morning we received message that Oscar is now with Lord and no longer suffering. Please, be in prayer for our church family and specifically Don Oscar’s family.
We woke up in Glacier National Park on our 25th! Almost at the end of a trip to several national parks and churches out west. Happy anniversary!
Our oldest daughter and her husband are moving to Spain to teach in a missionary school!
They are currently raising support needed as it is a volunteer teaching position. This keeps costs low for the missionaries! Such a blessing!!

Letter Updates:
Firsts and Lasts:
As we are one week away from taking Andrew back to the USA to go to college, we keep experiencing many lasts and a few firsts. He has been taking every opportunity he can to visit some of his favorite places and to spend time with the friends he will soon be saying goodbye to. It is crazy to think that our last child is headed to the States and we will soon be entering a new phase of life. Among all the lasts in Andrew’s final days in Costa Rica he has had a few firsts. The most notable was his opportunity to bring the message at his youth group where he shared on why we should strive for a strong relationship with God. We are so thankful to our Lord for all our children and ask that you will continue to pray with us for them as they start to live their own lives.
A Time of Learning:
The first months of 2024 have been filled with special opportunities for growth and learning. We were able to participate and help at a preaching workshop held by a sister church and several of the members of the church were also able to participate in a 3-day conference on the sufficiency of the Bible. Aside from that, Jonathan was able to attend a week long seminar on church leadership and 2 weeks ago we held our first pre-membership class at church. It is always an answered prayer to see those who form part of our church moving towards maturity in Christ.
2024 Summer and fall Furlough:
As we mentioned before we will soon be headed to the US to take Andrew back and to visit supporting churches and individuals. If you are interested in having us visit or would just like to touch base, we still have a few dates in the fall. If we can work out the schedule, we would love to see you.
